Sumantra Sen

Sumantra Sen is the co-founder and Managing Director of Transnational Business Solutions based in New York. During his twenty three years of industry experience, he has successfully completed several projects and consulting assignments with emphasis on development of multinational business partnerships.

Sumantra has a special interest in emerging markets and his key areas of focus are:

An expert in start up managements, International M&A initiatives, capability sourcing supply chain and distribution of packaged goods, Sumantra has worked with multinational companies like Mobil Oil, Cummins Power, Invensys and Lazard. As a former CEO, he has a successful track record in Operational Innovations, Marketing, Team Building and Mentoring and Strategic Planning in India, Germany, UK and USA. Sumantra’s unique expertise however, is in capability sourcing to Asia.

An engineer by training, Sumantra has also obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from a premium business school in India.
 
Sharon Horowitz

Sharon Horowitz, PHD, heads the advisory practice of ‘Human Capital Management’ in Transnational. Sharon is an expert in organizational behavior and has a passion for intercultural consulting. She serves as executive coach and advisor to senior level executives and their teams and her key areas of expertise are:

She has completed coaching assignments in affiliation with Columbia University Business School, The Tavistock Consultation Service in London, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has made significant contributions in International Mobility Programs and Leadership Development Programs in the financial services and technology industries.

Sharon has been educated both in South Africa and the United States. She was a research fellow in the Department of Neurology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and did her doctorial fellowship at Payne Whitney, New York Presbyterian Hospital.

 
Kenneth J. Nevor

VP, Business Development, Kenneth J. Nevor has over 30 years of experience in Civil Aviation, Defense, Petro Chemical/Energy and Industrial Automation industries. He has held several senior executive level positions in companies that included General Pneumatics, Eagle Rock Capital, Festo Corporation, Aerospace Avionics, and Hartman Systems and has worked closely with industrial giants like General Electric, Boeing, and Rolls Royce. An expert in the development and implementation of international business strategies across Europe and in Asian countries like China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore,

Ken is the President of the Tri State National Defense Industrial Association, “NDIA” Chapter, an industrial organization that publishes a monthly magazine called National Defense, and has direct ties with Washington.

Ken obtained a Master of Science degree from Long Island University and majored in Engineering with additional emphasis in Business Management and Accounting.

 
Arjun Malakar

Based in New Delhi, Arjun Malakar is the Creative Director and Head of Multimedia Business.

Arjun has an extensive background in multiple creative disciplines and brings in his entire gamut of knowledge and range of experience into Transnational’s consulting and delivery platform. He has worked with leading media and publishing houses in New York City including Forbes Inc.

Arjun is a Life Member of The Council of Architecture, India. He graduated in Architecture from the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. He has obtained training in 3D Animation and VFX from Vancouver Film School in Canada.
 
Abhijit Pathak

Heading the Operations of Financial Services from India, Mr. Abhijit Pathak is a Chartered Accountant with over 24 years of professional experience in financing of start-up industrial ventures including initial public offering, setting up of financial systems in a multinational environment, accounting reforms and capacity-building in Government and public sector entities including urban local bodies, and internal and management audits in diverse sectors.

Abhijit has held numerous key positions ranging from Controller to Board-level Director in several large multinational and Indian companies like Vesuvius, Ogden Energy, Calcutta Electric Supply, Indo-Ashai Glass, Paharpur Cooling Towers and Duncans Industries and has worked in India, Bangladesh and the Philippines. Abhijit majored in Economics from a premier college in India before completing his training as a Chartered Accountant. Smarajit Mitra

heads the risk finance and forensic accounting practice at Transnational India. Based in Kolkata, he is a practicing chartered accountant with an international clientele that includes, among others, ICICI, HDFC, Standard Chartered Bank, ABN Amro Bank, Vodafone, Tata Teleservices Ltd., BWin (Italy) and 24x7 Radiology (USA).

A consultant in the areas of monitoring, nurturing and curing of stressed and sub-prime assets and administration of remedial measures, Smarajit also has considerable experience in mentoring sub-prime accounts and portfolios.

Prithwiraj Mukherjee

Based in Calcutta, Prithwiraj Mukherjee heads Operations of Accounting Services in Transnational India. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he advises both overseas and Indian clients on various financial issues including accounting and tax.Prithwiraj is conversant with a range of US accounting software, including Quickbooks and has considerable experience in handling outsourced accounting and purchase order and sales order processing for US companies.

As a financial consultant, he is keenly interested in recent and upcoming developments in the financial world. His key areas of focus are:

Prithwiraj is a qualified CPA and CIA and has eight years of post qualification experience.
 
Biplab Dasgupta

Based in Kolkata, Biplab Dasgupta is Director, Business Development, Multi Media and Entertainment in Transnational Business Solutions, India.

Biplab key area of focus is communication and he regularly conducts training and workshops in IT, Corporate and Developmental Sector. His multi dimensional activities also include academics and active participation in theatre and in the entertainment industry as an actor, writer and director.

Biplab has played major roles in international movies like A Candle in the Dark directed by Tony Tew, Shadows of Time directed by Florian Gallenberger, and The Bengali Night directed by Nicola Clotz are to name a few. His documentary A New Life, has been screened at the International Film Festival in Kolkata and he has also directed a 27 episode Radio play series on Aids and an 18 episode mini tele-series on child rights.

A post graduate in English from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, Biplab has a rich experience of 20 years as an advertisement professional.

 
Sharmistha Mukherjee

Based in Kolkata, Sharmistha Mukherjee is Director, Multi Media Business in Transnational, India.

Sanjoy Mukherjee

Associated with The Management Centre for Human Values at IIM Kolkata, since 1993, Prof. Sanjoy Mukherjee is a well known name in connection with studies and research on Human Values in Management.

Prof. Mukherjee’s key areas of focus are research, teaching and consulting on the human dimensions of management with special emphasis on values and culture.

He conducts workshops and management development programs and delivers stimulating lectures on a diverse range of topics like Motivation, Inspirational Leadership, Enlightened Governance, Stress Management, Values and Ethics in Business, Non-conventional Sources and Alternative Methods of Learning, Corporate Social Responsibility and similar other topics in India and abroad, to a wide spectrum of audience that includes management students, corporate executives, business consultants, and fellow academics.

He also participates in workshops and academic dialogues at several international institutes of repute. Some of the institutes where he has participated in such workshops include the Sloan School of Management (MIT), Harvard Business School, Stockholm Business School, Copenhagen Business School and Arhus Business School, Denmark.

Sanjoy is also the Editor-in-Chief of the bi-annual International Journal of Human Values published from SAGE. His book titled Corporate Governance, Economic Reforms and Development: The Indian Experience, edited jointly with Darryl Reed has been published from Oxford University Press in 2004. He has also published several articles in many national and international journals.

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, Sanjoy obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIMC and Ph.D from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

 
Peter H. Wyman

Peter Wyman is the Senior Vice President of Merrill Corporation, Legal and Financial Transaction Services. His key areas of focus include providing corporate, legal, investment banking and private equity clients with financial print and document management – including virtual deal room (DataSite) – solutions. He specializes in providing a comprehensive suite of litigation support services, ranging from e-Discovery and court reporting (depositions) to translation and trial presentation services to law firms and corporations both local and global.

Peter has over 6 years of experience in working with a broad range of corporations, bankers, law firms and financial sponsors on innumerable successful M&A transactions and private/public offerings. As a result, he is able to bring a great deal of experience and value to M&A deal participants and clients and help them efficiently close deals in a timely, cost-effective manner.

Peter started his career at IBM where he worked for 12 years in a variety of capacities including sales, sales management and management consulting. Subsequently, he joined ENTEX Information Services, as Vice President, Software Marketing and built a $200M software business for the company. Following his 6 years with ENTEX, he took up the position of Head of Sales in two software start-ups.

Peter graduated from Phillips Andover Academy and Stanford University with a BA in Communications.

 
Eugene P. Buccini

Dr. Eugene P.Buccini, Ph.D., is the President of Buccini Associates Inc., an organizational and management consulting firm, and a Professor of Management at the Ancell School of Business of Western Connecticut State University.

Dr. Buccini specializes in the areas of executive leadership, organizational and management development, and human resource management. He assists organizations in becoming more effective by aligning executives around the strategic imperatives of their business. He has an extensive background in leadership development and management development in various types of organizations. He has developed succession plans, conducted executive teambuilding and instituted performance and management development systems, all of which resulted in organizational success. Dr. Buccini increases effectiveness of executives by executive coaching, executive retreats, executive alignment, and management development.

Dr. Eugene Buccini is the Chairman of the Board of Richmond of New York and President of the Board of the Hunt Hill Farm Trust of the late Skitch Henderson. He was formerly the chief operating officer at two organizations. He also served as the Dean of the Ancell School of Business of Western Connecticut State University, and held director level positions in human resources and labor relations.

Dr. Buccini has a Ph.D. from New York University, an MBA from Pace University, as well as certificates from Harvard University and Cornell University.

 
Samik Bandyopadhyay

Editor of Thema, a publishing house in Calcutta, Samik Bandyopadhyay is well known for his rich contribution to the arena of literature and the performing arts. An MA in English Literature, from Calcutta University, he started his career as lecturer at the departments of English Literature and Drama, Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta, in 1966. He joined the Oxford University Press, Calcutta, in 1973 and served as Regional Editor, from 1973-1982. From 1982-1988, he was the Editor at Seagull Books, Calcutta. From 1995-1997, he was also Research Professor, at the Asiatic Society in Calcutta.

Samik Bandyopadhyay’s association with the world of performing arts has been long and significant. He was a Delegate to the East-West Theatre Seminar organized by the International Theatre Institute, New Delhi, in 1966, and a panelist at seminars on Indian Theatre as part of the Festivals of India in the USSR and Germany, at Tashkent in 1987 and Berlin in 1992. He was nominated Member of the General Council, Sangeet Natak Akademi for two consecutive terms, and Central Board of Film Certification for two terms.

He delivered a series of lectures on Indian cinema, at the Pittsburgh University in 1988. He also participated in a seminar on Indian Culture, at the Brown University, Providence in 1990. He also translated plays and fiction by Badal Sircar and Mahasweta Devi; contributed introductions to plays by Vijay Tendulkar, Mahesh Elkunchwar, G P Deshpande, Satish Alekar; and reconstructed for publication scripts for films made by Shyam Benegal and Mrinal Sen. Each of his works bear the stamp of his erudition.

Samik Bandyopadhyay is currently a Member, Academic Council, Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Calcutta. He is also a Member, Board of Studies, School of Drama and Film, Allahabad University and Vice-Chairman, National School of Drama, New Delhi.
